We provide settlements with a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants, knowledge regarding the conditions of their local infrastructure and facilities by developing a census-based inventory at the national level, with precise and systematic information.

APPLIED GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS

We carry out the EIEL survey via ARGOS, an Applied Geographical Information System which fulfils both management and processing needs communicated by the principal users, at the same time that it combines the demands of the State.

Functionalities:

  • It includes the EIEL data model established by the MPAL.
  • It lets us create and validate the tables to be sent to the MPAL.
  • Optimized application that cuts down on data editing and loading times.
  • It is integrated into the AutocadMap2011 base software.
  • The system is fully compatible with the Shapefile format.
  • It possesses tools for automatic data dumping.
  • It connects to public services in WMS format and prints the processed data in IDE format.
  • It has its own mapping layer.
  • It limits data to be introduced, thus reducing validation time.
  • Automatic codification by geographical position.
  • Information processing with synthetic indicators and maps.

Benefits:

  • It facilitates the distribution of information among different users, departments or organizations, avoiding redundancies and duplications.
  • It improves the services offered to citizens, firms and other organizations.
  • Ability to boost strategic decision-making.
  • Improves the integrity of data managed by organizations.
  • Improves the overall quality of information.
  • Increased efficiency and productivity.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT AND DATA COMPILATION

  • Deskwork in official organizations (ministries, colleges of architects, provincial councils, municipalities, etc.)
  • Implemented provincial plans.
  • Consultancy by technical staff responsible for each municipal area.
  • Developing surveys regarding services delivery.

FIELD DATA COLLECTION

EXTRACTING DATA FOR DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES

  • Synthetic indices and indicators.

Mathematical formulae are used to define situation indices and later, synthetic indicators for a balanced or an overall vision, in order to build concrete plans and take decisions.

  • Thematic maps.

These are the visual and graphical representations of synthetic variables and indices upon a cartographic base, thus making it possible to obtain greater information about the territory.

VISUALIZATION

  • Scales from 900,000 to 500.
  • WMS Connection.
  • Layers menu.
  • Map printing.
  • Information consulting.
  • Searches
  • Data projection on the fly for differentgeodetic datums and projection systems.
